Tremor is an involuntary shaking movement usually affecting the limb.
There are different types of tremors.
Rest tremor
In Parkinson disease, the tremor is described as a rest tremor with the following characteristics:
- The tremor frequency is 4-6Hz
- Occurs in a fully resting limb
- Temporarily disappears when the limb is stretched out and then reappears
- Not present during movement
